We can take the Earth for granted. In the movie
Civil Action, Jan Schlichtmann is a lawyer who only wants money, until he finds out that the water of Woburn, Massachusetts is contaminated with poisonous chemicals that has killed numerous children. He takes this problem to court where he spends all of his firm's money and they eventually go bankrupt. He cared so much about the town and their water that he refused a settlement offer of 20 million dollars. Jan believed that if the water wasn't taken care of, more children would die due to the contaminated water. Don't take the Earth for granted because you use it everyday and one day it may not be useable.
